I have this image of a bed of gravel where periodically a single bit of stone moves. Sometimes it's a small jump. Sometimes a piece spins for a few seconds before settling down again to be like its neighbors.

Light does this, filtered through the tree canopy.

The light of my life and I, with our cats, moved to a heavily wooded ridge in very rural West Virginia in 1991. Our home, outbuildings and garden are the center of our life, as are our five cats. Two of the cats were feral and are learning to trust us. One of the five has three legs and is the lord of his tribe.
